Ceramic V60 dripper: pour-over brewer for one or two cups

Why a ceramic V60?
The V60 is a cone with a 60-degree angle, spiral ribs and one large hole. Water flows through at the speed you pour, so you control the extraction instead of the brewer. Ceramic matters because it holds heat: rinse the dripper with hot water and it stays warm through the whole brew, which keeps light roasts sweet. The glaze does not stain or keep odours.
A pour-over brewer for one or two cups
This size sits on a mug or a small server and brews from 250 to 500 g of water, enough for one or two cups. Use 15 g of medium-fine grounds for one cup, 30 g for two. It takes conical paper filters in size 02, which are sold separately at any kitchen shop.
V60 recipe in four steps
- Rinse the paper filter and warm the dripper.
- Add 15 g of grounds and pour 40 g of water at 93 to 96 °C. Wait 40 seconds.
- Pour slowly in circles up to 250 g.
- Let it drain; the total time should be about 3 minutes.
The brewing guide explains how to adjust the grind when a cup is sour or bitter.
What to brew in it
Light roasts are where this brewer shines: try Morning Light or Rwanda Nyamasheke. Pair the dripper with the Gooseneck kettle for a steady pour and the Hand grinder Duo for fresh grounds.
